What happened with McVay and Goff? No one knows though everyone pretends that their own pet theory is exactly what McVay was thinking. It's just as possible that McVay wants to leap over his own issues as an offensive coach with a qb who does not need continued coaching and developing (the way Stafford himself did in his own 5th year). Anyway at this point it's all guesses.

So. I am not "lowering expectations" for Stafford. And I like Stafford. I just know it's always more than just the qb. (Give the 2020 Bux Brady but also the Detroit, or Jacksonville, or Houston defenses--do we get the same result? How about giving the Bux the Chief's end of the season injury wrecked OL? Same result?)

And I am not throwing Goff under the bus.

Yet I don't complain about the trade because Stafford, in my eyes, makes the entire issue moot.

There may be some guys who say the things you're criticizing, but not all of us.

I see it that way too. Sooo many variables for a teams' success, but a HC must do what he thinks is best for the teams success to keep his job and thrive. Even HC O'Brien with the Texans who traded all his players & picks away....whatever you may think(and I think he was crazy and a horrible HC & GM) he did what he thought would bring success for his team and was horribly wrong and fired for it.

It's gonna be the same with McVay, he'll either rise or fall based on his moves.....so, it's up to him and it may go either way, but I think he's doing what HE THINKS will bring the Rams the best outcome. Like all of us HERDers here, I hope for the best for our team. If it blows up and McVay is fired....I'll move on and get behind the new HC and justify to myself that he's the greatest HC hire ever!! Man, we humans are just insufferable, aren't we!!! lol
