Throughout this thread, nearly every time you used the word public you were speaking of something that fans could see, hear, or take note of. All of your references to public were to what you now refer to as press conference stuff. None of it referred to stuff in front of the team so it's really interesting to me that you're changing up now.
Besides, if it was stuff behind closed doors that was at issue, there would be no way for any of us to know that McVay's treatment crossed the line from "criticism" to "derision."
It appears to me that the public derision thing is extreme hyperbole as 43 stated. There is no case to be made that there was public derision that fans could see or hear and whatever case could even remotely be made happened after the season which has no bearing on his performance.
