I think your opinions and perceptions are pretty astute. After the season, they didn't do the typical, respectful coach/GM speak which they usually engage in for potentially departing players. And I agree that it did come across as a bit disrespectful and that is something which we hadn't seen before.

I appreciate the clarification. I didn't recall anything McVay did that came across as personal or disdain during the season so wanted to clarify that we were thinking of the same things that occurred after the season.

I wholeheartedly agree with this part. This is not just your opinion. This has been confirmed by Rodrigue as the opinion of the Rams decision makers.

Basically, McVay felt that the league had caught up to his scheme in many ways, that he needed to change and adapt, that continual changing and adapting would be necessary, and that he didn't believe that Goff could keep up with him in implementing those changes. It's more than a disconnect. The main issue is Snead/McVay didn't believe in Goff's above the shoulders capabilities or as you stated "he wasn't the guy capable to run the different offensive counters."
