Describing McVay’s treatment of Goff as ‘public insults and derision’ is extreme hyperbole. C’mon…
That did happenn in 2020, as others in this thread attest. They saw it too. In fact--
some are even defending it. (For that matter this is not the first time someone has defended it.)
Maybe you are making the mistake of assuming we're saying "all the time" as in it happened all the time. No, no one is saying that. But it
did happen, and it's not supposed to at all.
...
Perhaps we have different definitions of ‘public insults and derision’, zn?
Saying ‘Our QB needs to take better care of the football’ or ‘Yeah, he’s our QB today’ are not examples of such on my planet. NFL QB’s cannot be snowflakes and must be able to handle strong criticism from coaches from time to time.
It was already said several times in this discussion that criticism in itself does not count as derision. So no that comment has nothing to do with this.
And several people heard derision...and they all know the difference. As said, some even defend it. Their argument is that Goff was so bad McV just lost his patience. I don't buy that argument for several reasons, one of them being if you're the qb coach then you don't lose your patience that way in public
no matter what. It's unprofessional and serves no good purpose. The other being that far from Goff setting McV off, I see McV as tearing at Goff's confidence without knowing how to work on confidence.
You can't act like I am the only one seeing and saying these things. So the remark "maybe us 2 see derision differently" is pointless--there are several people who have commented on this, including in this thread. Acting like it's just me is for the stalker types who feel compelled to respond to every zn post without noticing there's an actual conversation going on around them.
