...so, of course it's not to be trusted. 
But, for me it was not the calling out of the INTs and mistakes after games so much - that's common stuff...and comes with the game of football.
For me, it was the cryptic stuff after the season that I thought was a little petty and not cool on McVay's part. Snead & McVay would be a bit too sly in how they spoke of Goff and his future....I thought that was a bit disrespectful and coulda been handled much better by NOT doing that.
Also, I do not recall them doing that with other players the way they did that with Goff. I know they were coy with regards to Gurley at times but they always were quick to say how much he meant to the team and what a pro TG was, etc...ya know, all the PC/kind stuff HCs say when moving on from players. I feel that McVay couldn't bring himself to give any good vibes towards Goff leading up to the trade and even for a few weeks after the trade. I think it just got real personal with McVay towards Goff in the end and it showed...and that's why I think even McVay said he coulda communicated better. Yeah, no kidding bro!! lol
THAT being said, I do think that Goff may have been a frustrating player for McVay's personality...and it was okay when they were winning but the bottom dropped out when they lost and McVay's disdain grew to such an extent that they woulda gave the Lions 4 - #1 picks to take Goff. It was over.
And, Alyo will tell you - as we watched the games together - that I started commenting on Goff's poor play more & more. I was very surprised by Goff's poor play in many games - even games we won. Goff was making poor reads and seemed like the game was moving too fast for him. Goff appeared to me to be losing his hold on the very simple basics. Hell, even I was getting frustrated with Goff due to his inconsistencies week to week. I have always been a very big fan of Goff's accuracy and ability to stand in the pocket and deliver....but Goff was so lumbering when out of the pocket or scrambling that it became a HUGE liability to me. I just wanted him to throw the ball away when he hit the top of his drop if the pass was not there...rather than try and extend the play with his plodding movement skills. imo
I think McVay got the best from Goff and when the NFL caught up to what they did and took it away...McVay got frustrated that Goff could not carry out the new/improved game plans designed to keep the defense off balance. So, defenses just started taking things away and McVay's offense got smaller and smaller. McVay saw that he couldn't adapt his offense or that Goff wasn't the guy capable to run the different offensive counters to what the defense was taking away. Divorce was imminent at that point. We'll sure get a real sense of how all the people involved(Goff, McVay, Stafford) and a better idea of everyone's talent/ability in the situations this coming year.
All this is just my opinion on what things looked like from my couch last year.
