Flying in and around Dallas that is. I have never checked the charts for Dallas but I think there is no doubt it's extremely congested and restricted.

I learned to fly in 1967... pilots today can't believe me when I say that back then you could fly just about anywhere with few restrictions. For example - my instructor and I used to fly to San Francisco Intl.... land, have lunch, or breakfast, then fly home. No way you're flying a Cessna 150 into S.F. Intl. today... unless it's an emergency... hell, even in an emergency they'd probably ditch you into the bay.

BUT.. back to Texas.... Texas is crop duster heaven. You HAVE to have dozens if not hundreds of duster strips near you. I used to help ferry home new crop dusters purchased in Texas. The number of small strips across Texas were innumerable. I'd bet good money many of them, most of them in fact, have private planes hangared there and no few pilots instructor certified. - JamesJM
