The two times we fle to STL for games, we went through OKC as its just a far to drive there as Dallas.. I know Southwest Airlines used to run that direct flight several times a day, but that was also in 2000 and 2001.. Dunno if you checked Southwest (they generally hafta be booked from Southwest's website and don't have flight listed with travel sites like Travelocity) but next time might be worth a try...
Back then the direct flight from OKC to STL was $38..
