And...breaking the mold does not create players where there are none. Going deep into the past decades in the NFL, it is very rare to find starting LOTs outside the 1st round...and in some cases the 2nd round though far less than in the 1st round. And remember, the Rams are not the only team in NFL history that has drafted well. I can think of a few lower round left OTs who had solid or great careers. But that's going back to the 70s and guys like Donovan and Shell.
Those are just the facts. The facts point to a far lower probability of turning up a hidden low round gem than wishful thinking does.
