And that goes to my point. In order to avoid Hoecht's perceived weakness (pass coverage) he has to be part of the pass rush. But doesn't that imply that Young (or Verse) has to drop into coverage? And if so is that the best use of Young's or Verse's skills?
I get the theory that the Rams might want to hide Hoecht's pass coverage skills (or lack thereof), but if the trade-off is losing Young's or Verse's pass rush so they can drop instead ... well, I'm not sure I get a warm and fuzzy thinking about that.
Maybe having both OLBs rush every time Hoecht is in there on a pass play is the best answer, but that really limits the flexibility that I bet Shula and McVay are looking for.
