My take on Hoecht: he does a good job setting the edge on run plays and rushing the passer, not so good in coverage.
And if I was the DC I would find ways to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses. But here's the problem with that.
If he and Young (or Verse) are in at OLB and the DL consists of Turner, Brown, and Fiske what do you do if the offense runs a pass play?
Rush all 5 of them?
Drop Young (or Verse) into coverage and have Hoecht and the 3 DL rush the QB?
Drop one of the DL into coverage so both OLBs can rush?
Or drop Hoecht into coverage?
