But what there IS, are continual strawman arguments. There is no hyperbole in saying that Goff has struggled since the 2nd half of '18. That he was one of the bottom ranked starting QB's the last two years. That he has continued to struggle against certain defenses. That he has been inconsistent.

All of that is true and not exaggerated. At all. Trying to minimize those struggles by saying it was the playcalling, the OL, a disconnect, immaturity, etc. is where the hyperbole comes in. Not to mention acting like people are arguing that Goff was all bad, all the time.

It's funny, it wasn't that long ago that people were getting pissed because some had the audacity to suggest that Goff hadn't earned a "top 5" moniker. But this whole situation boils down to whether one believes in Goff's talent and ability to consistently produce or if McVay's coaching, playcalling and evaluation skills are more valuable?

I'm not one to blindly accept anything and everything just because a HC does it but when I look at all the information available, there was something wrong with Goff. Something wasn't clicking, something wasn't working, something that McVay, genius that he is, couldn't figure out how to get past. Making the same mistakes, giving games away, not progressing...I don't think it was just one thing, but McVay got fed up and that is the most damning of all the information IMO. For McVay to not only concede defeat but to pay a huge price to get out of the situation speaks volumes to me.
