I've often wondered what might have happened if he'd been hurt or not even drafted. What would McVay's Rams have been like? At least record-wise? Whatever benefit Goff was bringing in '17-'18 I think is counter-balanced by his seeming regression. On top of that, what if the Rams hadn't gone for the splash move and just kept their picks in '16? Who would be on the team that they had to give up to even get Goff?
I understand that I am firmly on the con side of the Goff conversation but I think these are legitimate questions to ponder. I honestly think that McVay, with just about any available QB of his choosing(instead of inheriting Goff) would have done just as well. But with more draft picks.
