Is that you focus on the forest instead of the trees. In otherwords it ignores the type of defense or specifuc teams he faced. Goff seemed to have trouble with the same teams and/or same defensive systems starting with the SB. This issue sugests the possibility that he didn't have trouble reading defenses overall but may have had trouble with certain defenses or schemes which in turn frustrated mcvay because he wasn't learning from past mistakes.
It started in mid-2018 before the SB but I get your point.
