A few comments:
1) I agree completely with Mok. There were several factors at work and us on the outside can only give our best, partially-informed educated guesses at all of them.
2) Like PhD and Zn, I liked Goff, I never thought he stank, and I hoped McVay would continue to work with him. However, like many other posters I think grabbing for Stafford was the right gamble, the smart money move, and I'm glad we did. FYI, some of my Lions friends hated Stafford and are glad they got rid of him for all those draft picks.
3) It's the off season and our egos like to argue. I'm actually seeing this discussion more as shades of gray than black and white disagreement. How much of the problem was Goff? Was McVay? Was Goff's lack of improvement, or McVay's negative attitude, etc? It's like a secret stew that had a couple of factors at work.
4) I think most all of our poster are intelligent. There are some pretty smart guys here. Clearly some guys here are deeper and more invested into the Rams world and thus are more knowledgeable than I am, and that gives me an opportunity to learn. Therefore, I would never call another Ram fan's post "ham-handed" or imply that because they don't think like me they're not really thinking. Everybody here has some good stuff to contribute.
