Coordinator means organizing all the other working parts of the organization to achieve goals, accomplish objectives, implement strategies. Ringmaster, movie director, something like that.
As zn said, they work together in collaboration at the same time, like a committee. They choose a course of action together. It's not like Demoff comes to Snead and says he wants to do XYZ, and then McVay walks in and says I want to do ABC, and Snead chooses the winner.
