Wow I hate to put 2 disagreements in the same subthread but here goes. Armey was not a good GM without Vermeil. Vermeil was in charge, Armey worked with him, and when DV was the guy in charge their drafts were productive. Without DV Armey went south. In fact after 2001 Martz and JZ froze him out of decisions (not that they were any better).
I agree with you about how Snead runs personnel. It's collaborative. Snead is not a boss in charge GM type. That's not his role.
Yes the combination of Vermeil and Armey, however, Martz did not work with Armey like Vermeil. Vermeil leaned on Armey quite heavely, but as so astutely communicated, Zygmunt and Martz froze Armey, which was a mistake. It was Armey that recommended signing Kurt Warner and keeping him over Will Furrer and it was Armey that liked London Fletcher because of those two reasons, he was good in my book.
