I just think they might have a budget...they CAN afford....and AD may want more than that....
so, that'd the the
3rd option in yer scenario, whereby, BOTH sides are operating in
good faith- one side has a budget
- the other side must maximize value....
and I'm just sayin it seems it would been done by now if they were close. I am guessing
they may not be close..
and so, I think the Rams will control him as long as is feasible and/or simply trade him now or after a few tags.

just sayin, it's slow goin and negotiations CAN be slow...but I wonder if there is a date of no return where we fans can see if a deal doesn't get done by a certain date...the outcome will likely be a poor one.
