Rampage2K-
They were talking about this the other day on Sirius and were discussing how much money AD has already lost by playing hardball. ...basically said when a team offers you huge money TWO years before your rookie deal is done-TAKE IT
The Rams will have paid him @ $9M for 2017-2018 and then could tag him for 2019 when he could have already been paid a low(estimate) of about $30M for 2017-2018
That's at least $21M left on the table by playing hardball....money that he can never get back and that would already be in his bank acct. had he signed last year.
In a league where every play could be your last, is it really worth it???
I agree with your thinking Rp2KI don't know the insider details but I'm guessing the Rams offered AD a contract last year making him the highest played defensive player in the NFL and his damn agent balked because they wanted an out clause after 3 years or what ever that rumor was.
Either way, This France dude nailed it for Bosa and he worries me a little bit. I just hope this AD contact gets done soon enough that the Rams can start working on Cooks extension.
Both of these players are in the last year of their contracts and that is big time leverage for their agents to work with.
I know we can Franchise one of them but we all want them
both back in 2019 on long term deals!
These are 2 key crucial young core players to lock up.
I will be bummed and deflated if both Donald & Cooks are not signed to extensions before the 2018 season starts.
I believe one of them will likely sign an extension prior to the season and that obviously means the other player can be given the franchised tag.
If that ends up being the case I won't like it but I can deal with it and as you know we have no choice but to...
