If Sammy was a bad player would someone pay 16 mil for him? No I can't see where the player has anything to do with the price to get him.....I see your point...the ability that a player shows towards another team should have no bearing on what that team is willing to pay...the player has nothing to do with the money thrown at him.....?
IMO contracts will be driven as far as the NFL increases the cap (By way of the union?) as soon as the game dwindles in importance the cap will do the same...The cap increases as players salaries increase.....in time it will blow up in their faces....They will attempt to increase that by increasing the number of teams.....to increase the money coming in as a whole..but it will end and end badly IMO at some point...
The NFL is just outgrowing themselves by way of salaries and number of teams...they are diluting themselves....They are actually eating themselves up IMO....Not in our lifetime...but in time it will happen...
