They were talking about this the other day on Sirius and were discussing how much money AD has already lost by playing hardball. ...basically said when a team offers you huge money TWO years before your rookie deal is done-TAKE IT
The Rams will have paid him @ $9M for 2017-2018 and then could tag him for 2019 when he could have already been paid a low(estimate) of about $30M for 2017-2018
That's at least $21M left on the table by playing hardball....money that he can never get back and that would already be in his bank acct. had he signed last year.
In a league where every play could be your last, is it really worth it???
On a side note, I'm glad his agent played hardball and left the money on the table to help enable the Rams to use some of that this year for guys like Suh, Cooks, Talib, Peters
