Unpopular Opinion: Snead/McVay are scapegoating Goff
It was not Goff that signed Gurley to $60 million dollar deal with 1-2 years left on his rookie deal, only to see him flame out and be on the hook for 10+ million in DEAD MONEY this past season and another 8 million this coming season.
It was not Goff that traded away a first round pick for Brandon Cooks and then signed him to a 80 million dollar contract, only to deal him away after two years causing around $20 million in DEAD MONEY this past season.
What do think $30 million would have bought last season? A top-notch deep threat, Yep! A top-notch center, Yep! you could have afforded BOTH those players and then some! How much better would Goff have looked with those two things? How much better would the whole offense have worked with those two things?
Snead/McVay gambled and lost. Now they are blaming their quarterback.
