It's really bad everywhere. I read that thieves typically break the rear windows to gain entry and they can steal a car in under 2 minutes. What sucks is that for the poor car owners, they've got to deal with the emotions of having their car stolen, missed work, no transportation, police reports, tow yard expenses, repair expenses, car insurance hassles, AND worse... buying a replacement car because not only do they cost a heck of a lot more now, but in terms of availability, there ain't a whole lot to choose from. It just causes so much upheaval in your life and it's no fun.
