My HOA acts like residents aren't allowed to do anything to the exterior of their houses or land without HOA approval.. but, technically my HOA is not a legal HOA, so, from what I understand, they have no legal authority to grant or deny any changes to anyone's property.. meaning, do what you want.. if they pitch a fit, tell em where to go.. I've never asked permission to do anything in 27 years.. I don't plan to, anytime soon lol
