My ex and I AAAALMOST built in the same Subdivision. He lucked out. Their HOA was only $25 a YEAR! In 22 years, it has gone up to only $75-$80 / year. They are not NAZIs or PITAs but they DO enforce simple stuff to fix.....Like CANS in the yard! They give one warning and then act. I went through that area about 4-5 years ago and it still looked very nice. That HOA is not gonna jump on someone who has a bare spot in the grass or some weeds. But they are not gonna tolerate a yard that is 75% dirt with 6 cars parked on it. They enforce just common sense / courtesy stuff. As simple as that HOA is, my Bud says there STILL have been people to file complaints because they were told to get their damned trash cans away from the curb three days after pick up. I tell ya.....People suck these days!
