I agree with what you are saying, for the most part. And a week ago, I was also in the "Everybody calm down" aspect of Perkins. An exciting kid, and fun pre season player, but not ready for prime time.

But after last night, I don't think Wolford is anywhere near a prime time player. I get he was up against starters with a straw man O line. But his whole hype is "knowing this offense". He looked scared and in way over his head. He did make some reads and threw a few good balls (Once we schemed away from that pass rush), but his ability to put those plays together into drives is non existent. And against the Texans, not the 9ers.

I get we had to move away from a backup with real NFL experience because it's how we cook our cap stew. But if we lose Stafford this year, we're done. I just don't see any growth from Wolf since his one win two years ago, and the way he looked last night was scary.
