"The fact that you're even asking this question makes me wonder if you're taking things wrong ..." Nope - that's not it. Just trying to pick your brain a bit.
Okay, fair enough. I was a bit testy there I guess though I didn't realize it at the time. I was over-reacting to this idea that if you put Henderson 2nd to Akers in terms of the ability to be a primary back, you've somehow dismissed or downplayed Henderson.
I think Henderson is good and have thought that since they drafted him. But I don't think he's in Akers's class as a primary back (I already said why, it's the lateral quickness and good elusiveness in traffic). I am pretty regretful that we will not see Akers this year. I have already said I think he will one day be on most lists that name "Rams top 10 all-time RBs." I think he's that good. He's not Dickerson, Faulk, Gurley level good. Jackson was just a completely different kind of back, but Jackson too, in completely different ways, had the ability to make something happen when nothing was there.
But with Henderson, while yes he could surprise me (I am wrong at least 0.01% of the time...joke...
)...I see him more as a valuable part of a rotation. I think the Rams this year will feature a rotation. Who knows yet who the other 2 will be.
In terms of Akers? I am beginning to realize how few backs return after an achilles. I hope that is not the case with Cam Akers.
