Akers has more in his arsenal as a back than Henderson does. It's just there. It's visible.
Same with Gurley compared to Jackson. Gurley had more in his arsenal (before the knee).
Same with Faulk and Dickerson compared to Gurley. And of course quite visibly, Faulk and Dickerson were very different.
None of which makes Jackson a bad back. In fact Jackson's strengths allowed him to be productive in many bad seasons when he had no OL much of the time. But Gurley still had more in his arsenal as a back than SJ did.
Same with Akers and Henderson.
I hear you but it still seems to me that you're mixing up opinion with fact. What's visible to one may not be visible to another. Happens everyday. But we'll have to wait and see how things turn out.
I'm still willing to go on record that we'll have a top running attack even without Akers. IMO, it's the scheme and the OL that are largely responsible for that. McVay hasn't played one RB since he's been coach that hasn't been effective. Even Brown produced when he got starts.
Well I don't know what to say about that because to me everything I state is obvious, visible, and clear when you actually watch them. It's not an "opinion" that Akers has excellent lateral quickness and very shifty feet in traffic and that it makes him much more elusive than the relatively more straight-line runner Henderson is.
I mean if someone can;t see that they can't see it, but it;s there. To me you're misusing numbers to erase obvious differences between the 2 backs. I never base an assessment on numbers alone. IMO looking at
numbers alone is always misleading.
Plus you need to respond to what is actually being said. No one anywhere is arguing they won't be effective running the ball. You come across as arguing wiht someone who says that...but I don't see anyone saying that, let alone me.
Though given that, yes as an individual player Henderson has not been effective at times. In this case the numbers match what we saw in several games. In 2020 he has 4 games where he carries at least 8 times but is below 3 yards a carry (3 yards a carry itself being pretty bad). He in unproductive in 4 other games largely because of not getting carries for whatever reason including injuries.
