...Henderson's overall numbers look impressive enough but does anyone really think they would apply if it was at the goal line on 4th down? IMO, he is a decent enough between the 20's RB but he isn't that next level RB that can generally get you the crunch time stuff.
Who knows if we're specifically talking about goal line on 4th down but we do know that last year he was their best RB inside the 5. It's why he had 5 rushing TDs.
But 5 rushing TD's is anemic. The best of a shaky group is dubious praise. I just think we've seen what Henderson can do and it's not being a feature back. He's had opportunities and not looked like anything special. He's the definition of JAG from what I've seen. If they decide to ride him as the starter, I'll hope for the best but color me skeptical. Hell, Zac Stacy looked better in his short run than Henderson's looked to me.
That Henderson couldn't separate himself from a very pedestrian Akers for much of '20 is a pretty big indictment to me. Akers wasn't such a high draft pick that he was gonna get the job no matter what. If Henderson had come in like Terrel Davis and stood out and made the coaching staff take notice, I'd feel better about him getting another shot. But he didn't. He was there, he was fine, but there are a TON of those guys around.
