Vegas makes the Lions the favorite..... to get the 1st pick in the draft with an over/under at 4 1/2 games.... in a 17 game season? Yikes.
Listening to Sirius today, I forget who the hosts were, but they felt pretty much the same way just looking at the roster and the big transition that has just begun.
Then they brought on the long time Lion's beat reporter, who said that the Lions were likely to be pretty bad this year. And further, that Holmes told him straight up that if a QB had been there that they liked in the 1st round, they absolutely would have taken him.
I wish Goff the best and hope he makes me (and about 99% of the NFL world) eat a lot of crow. He seems like a pretty decent young man. But the team he is on now will offer him little help in returning to a form he hasn't had in 3 years. They still are unlikely to a have much of a running game, they have less than stellar Receivers, and the D has no elite players on it. It is very hard to turn a team like this into winners. The Lions' O is going to have to put a lot on Goff's shoulders and cross their fingers.
You ask me, Holmes suspects that they'll have the 1st or 2nd overall pick in the upcoming draft and for the price of 1 first rounder they'll get a new QB.
