IMO, Allen didn't get better because they added a player. He got better because he's a young, developing QB.
2019 was year 2 for him so developing more consistency should be expected.
Goff, in year 5, is right around the time when he should be outgrowing his level of inconsistency.
Years 4 and 5 when the QB gets expensive with a 2nd contract is the time they need to start consistently being able to carry the team. Goff has faltered and it's questionable whether he has what it takes.
To say Diggs had nothing to do with the dramatic turn around is a bit of a reach to say the least....There are several vids and articles about it....Diggs changed everything for Buffalo..... luckily the coach and GM recognized what was missing and went out and got the best WR they could get for thier young QB and gave up a first round pick and three other picks to get him. Sure Allen gets a lot of the credit, but to dismiss what Diggs did for him and this offense is highly questionable...No doubt Josh Allen would tell you stright to your face how much better Diggs made him, he'd look silly trying to deny it.
Not saying Diggs had nothing to do with it. Just that given Allen's talent, he was likely to improve with or without Diggs.
Diggs is a factor but Allen himself is by far the biggest factor in his improvement IMO.
