So. Anyway. I never "put it all on the OL."
I also don't accept the idea that 2019 is all on Goff, or that for that matter his issues under pressure are as bad as others make out.
There's evidence that in fact he improved under pressure in 2019, even given the circumstances. In fact as I found out by linking back to sources, PFF actually ranks him 14th among all NFL qbs under pressure in 2019--and given the circumstances of 2019, that's not bad. Especially for the qb tied for first in attempts. Without a running game, they won when he came through--and that's pretty much the major reason they won when they did.
It also counts and matters, as long as we're really talking about PRESSURE and not just some mere statistical idea of it, that he does not flinch, remains tough, is a battler, keeps his eyes down field, and does not wilt.
He's not the guy who folds like a cheap wallet.
I know all about the stats about "under pressure" form 2017 and 2018 as they have been endlessly repeated and evoked here. But I question the picture people get from those 2017-2018 numbers.
Which is valid. There's no orthodoxy and no heretics. There's different views of a complex thing.
Fair enough?
