what tree, TA, etc signed for would be a joke to AD, Watkins, Tru...Joyner?...and those guys proved to be right...
they got far more money in FA. But that's what I'm saying is that the staff have $$$ number for the position defined/valued and i'm not sure what that is...but it appears they are sticking to that. Is it smart? Is it a good idea? I dunno.
If we keep winning and goin to the play-offs...then, yeah I guess..it's working.
If not, they WILL get fired and we'll bring in new staff that may/may not have new positions they value and are willing to pay for.
btw - THAT'S all I'm saying in this thread...rightly or wrongly on their part it's the decision how they value which positions...
I'm not really saying one is better...just wonderin what the staff values and see where they put their money.
And, I can't quite figure it out yet.
Historically, the Rams do not give players top tier contracts. That is their management culture. They low-balled Eric Dickerson, they low balled Jerome Bettis, and they low-balled Kevin Greene to name three Hall of Fame players. They seem to prefer B level players who are more easily replaceable and interchangeable and do not break the bank. I don't think they will sign Aaron Donald to a long term contract. They will eventually trade him and try to replace him with a group of cheaper rotational players.
