Rams43
AD could be extended this afternoon if he only comes to his senses.
The ball has been in his court for over a year now.
Same old story, takes two to tango.
What senses 43?
His best bet is to probably play it like Cousins. I'm guessing he's asking for 100% guaranteed money now if he wasn't already.
I strongly disagree, dz. That would NOT be his best bet. Heck, it could be likened to Russian roulette, injury wise.
All I can say is that if AD (and his pos agent) insist on including deal breaking poison pills in their demands, then they can expect the Rams to counter with a strategy that’s in THEIR best interests. Namely, 2-3 consecutive franchise tags. And who can blame them?
One way or another, AD will play for the Rams through ‘20, at least. Maybe one more than that. Unless, of course, he sustains a career ending injury in the meantime. In which case he should blame only himself and his pos agent.
Doesn’t need to be this way, but there it is. He needs to wake up and smell the coffee. And maybe fire his pos agent.
But I asked what senses? The problem is, as fans, we have no idea what the Rams are offering.
Not sure how we would know his agent is a pos. There's no way we know if signing whatever it is they are offering is his best bet. By definition, we can't state that b/c we don't know what it is.
What I do know is that the Rams have this nasty habit of low balling their best players. So it's probably a garbage offer.
In the next couple of years, the Rams are gonna have to choose to use franchise tags on AD, Joyner, and Peters. So who knows how long he'll be a Rams.
He could definitely be risking injury. But we don't know how many millions he'd be giving up to insure against that risk.
