Quotemax Fisher was never the type of HC who put being very sharp from the neck up high on his priority list. He is the anti-Belichick. If a player that Fisher drafted happened to have it from the neck up, it was just a coincidence. You mean like Hav, Goff, Gurley, Joyner, Tru, Donald & co. Yeah buncha blockheads. QuoteJamesJM and a 'point' that was inherent in your post... or at least I read this into your post... is that a loss today does NOT necessarily mean what we have seen so far is an illusion. The game has yet to start... and I am convinced the Ram's have taken that step toward true respectability and 'good' football... and no 'one game' is going to change that... so i'll be of that same mind afby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteHollywood Ram Allen Hurns is a 1000 yard reciever and the Jags most reliable reciever when Bortles needs a first down. He also is not a fumblerb(3 in four years). Also a 6'3" 200+, as opposed to a cast member in the Wizard of Oz. ' And since Tavon is not and never was a RECEIVER (he catches passes but his role is not that of a pure receiver) you're right, it's not a perfect comparisoby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram Of course. IMO if Tavon's playing time increases it will be because McVay (and the rest of the coaching staff) think that Tavon can contribute on the field and not simply because he signed a huge contract. And they already think he can contribute on the field. The issue with playing time, snaps, and touches has been missing time when the offense was being installed. Naturally wby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram I would be shocked if McVay let Tavon's contract influence his playing time. The money has been spent regardless. It's McVay's job to put the players on the field that give the team the best chance to win. IMO the extent that Tavon sees the field and the manner in which he's used reflect only McVay's opinion on how much Tavon can contribute to the team's chances of winning. QuoteRampage2K- QuoteFootballGenius But that's just not worth 10 million a year imo. No it's not, but Allen Hurns just signed a deal almost exactly like Austin's ...Allen who??? Exactly. Tavon's contact isn't as huge as some make it out to be and if he is part of the reason for Goff and Gurley's resurgence and this offense finishes as one of the top scoring offenses in the league, maybe itby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteFootballGenius For my taste. My point was the 9 tds from 2015 won't be seen again as long as he's a ram imo. He had 4 last season after signing that big deal and it looks like he'll be lucky to get that many this season. And they did try to force the ball to him way to much trying to get him involved in games. And that's going back to Schotty. Again, just my opinion. He catches the ballby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteFootballGenius It's become obvious that his involvement in the offense is getting less and less with each passing week. The team has to many other better options now and i don't see them forcing him into the offense like Fisher used to do. Just my opinion. QuoteBlue and Gold can do. Tavon being a decoy versus another guy who is fast, the defense will still react. It could be argued that Tavon is extra fast and has done well on reverse action., but he really hasn't. QuoteSuh-weet! QuoteAtlantic Ram the more successful the offense will be. I mean if ever became an actual threat then the decoy thing would work better. QuoteAtlantic Ram the more successful the offense will be. I mean if ever became an actual threat then the decoy thing would work better. It's already working. Quotedzrams According to Overthecap.com, his dead money cap amount for this year is $19,977,116. It’s saying that they would cost them $5M on the cap if they traded him now. This tells me that his $5M roster bonus next year is guaranteed. A trade would be very hard to do since they have less than $1M in current cap space. They can’t afford to take a $5M hit. QuoteFootballGenius Looked like a franchise QB the first 4 games of 2015. Then the wheels came off and you know the rest. Quotesix2stack He is on the way to becoming a very good QB in the NFL though. He's 22 and seems to be a perfect fit for McVays O. I still have reservations, but I also have hope that he'll be the Rams QB for the next 10 years. My own view is that he already is that qb. QuoteRockRam I'm not sure the Rams have the right guys for Phillip's 3-4 D. I don't think they have Ends that play the run well enough. I don't they have ILB's that are stout enough against the inside run. And I don't think Quinn is suited for being an OLB. He seems lost if he doesn't line up right at the LOS. Keenum was proof that you don't need a top arm to throw deep---in fact, someone like Boller had the arm but was scattershot deep. CK had had everything else--timing, anticipation, accuracy.
