Quotemax What would happen if his OL was better. Dickerson said if Gurley was on the Cowboys and Elliott was on the Rams last year the results would be reversed. Well, the Rams OL is playing better now, and we are seeing Gurley play better. Gee, surprise, surprise. At the same time Gurley was one of the issues last year. Quoteoldschoolramfan DE's gave up way to many plays outside........Did not keep contain and that killed us. But, offensively we can move the ball, unlike last season. Let's beat SF this week, get to 2-1. Let me reverse that. Offensively the Rams can move the ball. But the defense fell apart, unlike (early) last season. One can want both things. Quotemax Wasn't there a prediction that Goff would be replaced around mid season too? LOL As a friend, let me just say...probably all for the best if we lighten up on this kind of thing. We all make good and bad predictions. I remember you getting livid with me once for declaring that Chris Givens wasn't very good overall. Look, he showed in two games now that he can play in the league though he is also still young. It's just 9 games in from being a very green Air Raid variant qb, and none of those---not one--has ever become a regular starting qb. That's going to be a rough road at times but he is ALREADY making progress. IMO we can't determine if a qb is clutch based on one game. That's a verdict that comes aby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams_81 but I get it. The Rams beat a very good team last year but yes it did, it felt like a team going nowhere and not they lose to a below average team and it feels like there is hope Hard to imagine, but that is exactly the feel. I dunno. Sounds to me like 20/20 hindsight mixed with a prejudice. Defense wins a close game against a superior team and that doesn't count. Defenseby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote9er8er That's why they mortgaged the farm to get him, after all, isn't it? We should also be guard against keeping expectations too low for a QB that was the first overall pick and costs a bunch of additional premium picks to boot. He's supposed to be capable of more and sooner than your typical prospect. It really highlights the problem with investing so much in a project like Goffby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteFootballGenius All teams have injuries. The good ones overcome it. The Rams weren't good. The 09 draft was bad as well, with JL being the only guy that started for a long period of time and IMO, he was average. Jason Smith and Bradley Fletcher bombed. QuoteJamesJM What I was getting at is that I think those two 'bold' moves unduly color the Fisher era. I do think, obviously, one could think both moves were 'bad'..... but I don't (when they happened), even though I wasn't in favor of either of them. But they loom so large that if one didn't like the moves, and still doesn't, then that tends to brand Fisher... and I don't think that's quite faby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax We aren't grading Fisher are we? I mean, do you believe there is a grade on Fisher? It's all subjective right? So the graded doesn't really matter much. So why would it be fair to grade the current regime? Well I just wasn;'t being all that literal. QuoteJamesJM the two bold moves: the Washington Trade then the move up to draft Goff. Both Bold, IMHO... GR doesn't factor in, IMO. - JamesJM I missed that. I thought you were naming two bad high picks. I liked both moves, the trade-away and the trade-up. Rams have traded down, too. When they trade sideways, they will have a full set. .by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM the debate about Fisher bringing in talent. I've never thought that a real issue... or failing on his part. Not exactly the 'opposite' but a step in the right direction for sure. Quote21Dog for some of its personnel decisions (and deservedly so), they did OK with these two. Basically (so far) the Rams are starting 6 players who were not there before 2017: Barwin, Webster, Whitworth, Sullivan, Watkins, Woods. Quotedzrams I don't view him as a WR or PR or RB and I don't think McVay views it that way either. He's a multipurpose, explosive, playmaking weapon as all three. . Yeah.
