Snead's role as a GM is to find out what kinds of players the coaches need for their systems. He's not an uberlord style GM. He's a "boss of personnel scouting" style GM. But he's a veteran who knows what the Rams have and don't, is evidently very good at listening to the coaches when they describe what they like, pulls off good deals, etc. None of this would be as easy with a nby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteheadslapper I will agree that even during those horrid 90s there were some bright spots but you have to admit during Fischer ball our defense was a bright spot (which perhaps made it even more frustrating) Not for me. I like defense. Or rather, I don't like 41-39 cliffhangers any more than 9-3 cliffhangers. And the main problem in the Fisher years was having to start a long series of #2 caby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotewv ram This game might possibly be a bit like game four of 99. (was it game four?) The rams were undefeated but the 49ers loomed. This year the rams are doing well, but Seattle looms. w v The was the build up to the game, because of the 17 losses in a row. But the Rams are 4-2 against Seattle. So not quite the same vibe. QuoteRamadune Quoteguinnessram I used to chide people for saying "Losing will make winning that much sweeter." After 5 years with Fisher at the helm, I am starting to somewhat understand what they meant. If things keep going this way, things are going to get very sweet! Quote21Dog QuoteRFL I rarely make predictions. But, here is one. I predict that ... Starting this week, the D will improve its efficiency and production significantly and will continue to play very well going forward. Why do I say this? QuoteSunTzu_vs_Camus start with the swagger...as we've seen in the past with the rams starts and then where they finish. Ugh! Hard to trust anything these last 10yrs!! Not me. I don;'t look at it that way. There was no REAL continuity in the last 10 years. That's several GMs, coaches, and owners. QuoteRamgator I think we are seeing a Rams uprising that will last longer than 3-4 years. McVay is very young and has almost no ego (Downfall of GSOT, IMO......Martz) McVay, IMO, is better at coaching average players to higher levels. Martz had an all star team. QuoteJamesJM His rebuild of the Ram's defense, in 2001, simply can NOT be overlooked, and it was remarkable. He appreciated defense, he proved it. - JamesJM Once. Then he let it decay. Admittedly he had help from JayZ with that.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM Gurley, Austin, Cooper, Watkins breathing room look out. Reynolds may be in that group as well, or at least soon may be. QuoteHe has energy and optimism because he is given a chance I don;'t believe that because I don't believe he's a punk and an entitled frontrunner type. I think he's more mature than that. From 2005-2012 Steven Jackson ran for 1000 yards every season and only averaged under 4.1 a carry in one of those seasons. He ran hurt, he never whined, he was always up for a game. Quotestlrams13 How bout that he knew the o last year was a joke and he got tired of losing. But that would make him immature. Steven Jackson played in far worse conditions and circumstances than Gurley did in 2016. Quotedzrams Quotezn If you disagree, okay. We just see it differently. ... Yup, we do. I tried to cover this in my original statement of "That it was almost all coaching was very evident to me." Quotemax What isn't true is that Gurley was overrated coming out of Georgia. I read lots of post that said Gurley wasn't that good from the start. Stuff like, Gurley always had bad vision, and was like Trent Richardson were just not true. Gurley indeed didn't prepare well last year, but that was a fixable problem. QuoteSteve Imho, I think Goff made 2 'seeable' mistakes today (mental), and that is near 'perfect' in the NFL. His accuracy is amazing. Not sure what that addresses. Yesterday his accuracy and timing were off a bit because the D threw more resources into pass D than they're probably used to seeing, and that makes it a rougher slog. That's just the nature of that kind of thing, especially withby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Actually JG didn't have quite as good a game this time. For example before today he completed 70.4% of his passes; today it was 58.3%. They threw some things at him and he wasn't quite as comfortable. And of course...he didn't have a bad game. Just wasn't quite as magically fluid. And was still good. QuoteBumRap Gurley has lost confidence. Was taking on too much and forcing things. Fisher and staff were not help to him and now he has the correct mindset. QuoteDrew2839 But I had a good feeling going into halftime they were gonna adjust. I trust that old guy....... I will trust the defense more if they come into a game with a plan (and level of execution) that gets them off to a good start, right away. I mean yeah they scored 76 points in two games. But they also allowed 69.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
And to my surprise they turned it around in the 2nd half. Goff was just a little bit off balance today, so, I wasn't sure if they could make it through a real shoot out. But the defense came through. Not sure we can always count on that so it would be better if the defense settled down and played consistently. ...by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
