Quotenicecatchellard Kupp and woods are both extended. Talking extensions for ease of cap hits here. Has that happened? Didn't see it.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
You can get those guys into round 3 at least. There's good options. Not sure what that would mean for Kupp or Woody though. Do they move one, extend both, etc. I prefer they keep both and expect both to be more valuable with Stafford at QB, so my hope is extensions.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
People in the league watch film and know where these guys are struggling. And they're smart enough to consider situation. Out of that equation Goff came out looking like a bit of a discard. But... Wentz's going rate was from Indy's offer driven by Reich and the past association. Bears reportedly didn't make an offer and may have been media driven. So I wouldn't read too much into that traby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDeadpool First, you are spot on with Cox - he was a run and chase OLBer at NDSU in their 4-3. But LSU did have him play inside and out in their 34. I think he works all over. Move him around, get him into spots that will highlight his strengths. As far as after your top 4: McGrone - I like him, he is a bit raw. But has that Devin Bush feel to me that worked out so well for Pittsburgh.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah I'm all for them getting him assuming he gets cut which is likely. Cap casualty means he doesn't affect our comp formula. And look at that front he played behind, even with Watt they were one of the worst defensive fronts in the league. McKinney probably loafed a bit too I'm sure. Players were probably disgusted not condoning that just recognizing how guys tend to not play their best (by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It's the same thing every year it seems. You have a few guys (four this year IMO) who are bona fide round 1 types who can fill in the run like an actual LB but also drop and cover plus good range. Then it's JAG city with projects and maybe you hit on them. What the Rams really need here is a run stuffer who is ok in the pass game. A true plus guy vs the run who has some range to get outsideby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Good way to look at it. I think it's his first friend hire. Morris' performance has left a lot to be desired. But I also suspect that McVay is really involved with the defense anyway. I think he's trying to Belichick.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotePHDram there is really no evidence that SK gives any "orders". To me, it looks like he lets the football people run the football sides of things. So you agree with me. Great. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

We do have questions at safety, not sure they like what they're looking at with JJ leaving. But even with that concern and my fear that someone will sign Williams away I think this offseason is gonna be about the defensive front. Improving vs the run is going to be important for our Super Bowl aspirations. IMO this defensive front played very close to their best ability last season and theyby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 You’re actually advocating signing a top tier C, Merlin? Not challenging, mind you, since I can also see the logic. Just trying to clarify. I would love a Linsley, but don’t see how Rams can afford him. Only reason I think it is a possibility is because Snead observed that the team could sign both Floyd and Johnson if they both signed what the team thought they were worth. Quoteferragamo79 For sure they need to upgrade the center position and develop a replacement of Whit but what to do with Havs? As people mention, he s a great run blocker but struggles with pass protection. That would be more tolerable if the Rams had cap room, but they don't and Havs make a lot for a one dimensional player. It will be interesting to see what they do with him. Definitby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Center, ILB, and Edge, that's what it's about here IMO. These are positions where upgrading them stands to have a lot of impact. And of course those are also the positions with the best chance to be addressed in FA assuming they create the space. Of the three Edge is the one you generally have to address earlier vice later if you want your best chance to land a difference maker. Also, lookiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
First no GM likes going into the draft with a hole at a position. Other GMs know your roster and can then predict your desires which is not good. So yes I do agree at the very least they bring in a median type vet on the cheap as you suggest. Secondly the learning curve for centers sucks. It's not as bad as TE but look at the centers from the 2020 draft. None of them were difference makersby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It's one thing for fans to do that, I mean that's what we do we generate conversations in part due to crazy idea exchanges. But any site like that putting out predictions before they even know the roster... Yeah. That particular site I quit reading right out the gate when I noticed the article treated every depth player like a diamond in the rough. Lot of sites out there like that nowadaysby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
All they're doing is empowering Roseman's attempts to reduce the impact of missing on Wentz. Being that team that overpays for failed high end draft picks is a bad place to exist IMO. Darnold is a good target for a conservative GM like Ballard. So is Minshew. Then draft a guy and have an open competition along with Eason who they took last year. It's really what the Rams should have doby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteroman18 to his payoff value then looking at what Fowler did elsewhere. To be honest I don't see any relationship in the 2. I really think Floyd was abetter all around then was Dante. IMO Dante was a sack guy only for the most part. Floyd showed better in run support than did Dante. I would think that after the last few years all teams see an AD factor with an edge rusher. I think you're right. IMO the line will be addressed for sure. A depth type signing at center and then drafting the position. Or they can go get one of the FA options and use the pick for something else. WR is probably going to be drafted. They could trade someone here too but I think they go with restructures for both and add a WR4 who can handle returns and some slot action.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It is the easiest spot to upgrade by bringing in speed. It is also the easiest spot to start at as a rook. The guys who play outside the hashes and have a chance to win as rooks are the ones who go off the board before 57. Slot dudes last a lot longer. Now teams like KC utilizing weapons creatively helps these guys get more consideration to go earlier. But either way we could easily go getby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They need speed at wideout. This guy can give it to them. They don't need a slot per se, however slot is a position that is easier for a rookie to have impact due to the easier release. Rodgers gives them another speed option for taking deep shots and he could function as a bit of a gadget player in this offense, imagine his speed and ability on a jet sweep. But he's also a returner. So hiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Stan certainly backed the front office on Bradford but this thought that he was leading the charge there is funny to me. That's not Stan. He's a "hire someone and track progress" guy not a "everyone get behind me" guy. The difference in these two situations: Fisher vs McVay. Fisher wasn't in a particular hurry he seemed to feel like he had forever to win. He was the bby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Round 2: ILB Nick Bolton (think he falls a bit due to sheer number of LB in round 2 plus his measurables) Round 3: OLB Odeyingbo (underutilized in that scheme, this guy has some serious upside) Round 3 Comp: C Meinerz or Jackson (if Center is gone go get a project type like Morrisey or Dalman later) Round 4 Comp: WR Rodgers (if Amari is gone Philyor is another slot type who can threatenby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Enjoyable read btw. But to beat the 9ers we're gonna need good contain which means linebackers. And we need improvement at ILB which will help that contain too if they upgrade. People will probably think I'm crazy but I want Floyd brought back plus an OLB and ILB. I realize that won't happen but this defense needs to be more stout in contain and stuffing the run to be playoff ready.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That the trade was about winning the Super Bowl. So if this trade isn't part of winning at least one it's a failure. But what it means to each fan is different though. Some will only accept that. For me just give me great QB play. Start there.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Not just you but any other Michigan fans as well. Story on him is that QB hurt him given his strength with deep balls. Senior Bowl he did show some vert separation ability but his route tree looks like it needs work. Is that stuff overplayed do you think. And what do you see as his upside.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't care what they give up to get him it would be bad for us. Elite gameplanners like Shanny will magnify a QB's talent IMO just like McVay did with Goff. And in Watson's case that's bad for us if he ends up in SF. I think we're going to win this division in 2021 because we have the best roster and now we don't have a ton of dropoff at QB vs a team like Seattle. But if SF does get Watsoby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Higs 10x and Everett 14x. I think it may be worth considering that maybe Stafford shakes things up just like Wolford did that week in terms of how often he reads the TEs as open and throws to them. One of Goff's tendencies is that he doesn't like throwing to guys with DBs on or near them. And I think he looks past the big guys a lot for that reason because they don't separate well. Tampa's got a ton of quality guys. Their ILBs alone... Just watching 45 wrecking shop was painful given the talent level of our offball backers. Man I'd love to see a guy like that on our defense. In that loss to Green Bay our talent there really showed up.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
