It's the same thing every year it seems. You have a few guys (four this year IMO) who are bona fide round 1 types who can fill in the run like an actual LB but also drop and cover plus good range. Then it's JAG city with projects and maybe you hit on them.
What the Rams really need here is a run stuffer who is ok in the pass game. A true plus guy vs the run who has some range to get outside and strengthen the edge. SF and Green Bay attacked us on the edge, attacked our speed. That has to be improved at the very least if they want to make a run.
Koramoah, Collins, and Parsons are all impact types who could play in any front. No chance to get any of the three. Bolton probably falls out of round 1 because of the strength of this early group plus I don't think he will stand out athletically vs these other guys. I think he's early round 2 and almost surely well before our pick too which is, again, Groundhog Day. Another draft year another group of ILBs who go off the board before we can benefit. Because after Bolton there's a big dropoff IMO.
Jabril Cox looks like a safety to me. When I watch him I think 4-3 chase backer but maybe he can grow into a beast. Surratt is another big athlete moonlighting as an ILB. Sure maybe he grows into those athletic gifts of his but the Rams can't afford a conversion project with that high pick they need to get an IMPACT player there at 57.
Only ILB that I remotely like at 57 once Bolton is off the board is McGrone. If they don't go that route then address it round 3 or later IMO.
