As to his blocking gonna wait and see but it was nice to see not only him but also Blanton get involved and make plays. Blanton isn't as smooth but he's a big boy and it would be nice to see these two duking it out for a TE2 role. I'd also like to see a draft pick at the position for the record but I'm fine with young guys competing given how good Stafford looks. 9 just dishes that ball to whoby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
First off you can get safeties well into most drafts. The guys who can range deep and play on the ball tend to go earlier, however the Rams have no problem developing their safeties so finding guys with the right tools is possible. Also they're the lowest paid group in FA. So to me it's just surprising that a guy who never really fit what the Rams were doing with him is still on the roster.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Today's media is a groupthink wheel that spins round and round parroting the most popular takes. So many "experts" who don't really bother to even research their takes, because nobody ever calls them on it. This is why videos like this getting play is a great thing. Stafford will always be a guy who throws up INTs. He's a risk taker. But he also has a knack for tightening up hisby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote21Dog comparing him to HOFer like Ed Reed is a stretch. That said, I wouldn't mind a playmaker in the Ram secondary. Yeah not to mention he's not really like Reed, who had it all. Honey Badger is a guy I've always respected but he's not in Ed's class. But adding him to this secondary would make it a lot better IMO.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
the problem is sheer pick availability in the range needed to find what we require. Rams have one good shot at trying to fill a starter role with that round 3 pick. They have bigger needs at both corner and edge. So there's a good chance safety ends up falling by the wayside with those first couple picks or forces them to move down from that round 3 pick to garner more shots at starters to accby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Been waiting on the NFL to do that for a loooong time.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He set a really strong edge for us. Guy was elite in every measure so it's a big loss to try to replace him. I agree the rush is the key though no doubt about it. Hollins probably gets the nod early downs but a guy who can bend/rush would be a really big addition. Btw Garrett's strength is his rush IMO. He's got potential to help us there I think if he works hard and develops. But I'd likby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think both are big needs. Probably about the same in terms of how dire they are. Either of them will help with the other but hopefully the Rams address both.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Being patient with him paid off. I ate a lot of crow with his play and gladly. He wasn't a guy I trusted to get back to that guy he was briefly a few years back but he really has seemed to make a change and it made a huge difference. The big guy deserves a ton of cred for working himself into that guy we saw too. I would let him play his contract out though. Because a guy like him, if he cby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd honestly go with lack of power as his fit question for us. Seems like the Rams are valuing power more and more in their front. But we really need more rush depth in this rotation.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I like his rush overall, I agree he's not a juiced edge threat but we won't see one of those where we're picking. Rush talent looks to be there to be developed though, he's just gonna be a rotational third down guy at best if he can get on the field year one. And then that question of is he gonna work hard and does he love the game and all that will determine whether the Rams are all over him.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Something along the lines of he was impressed by how detailed McVay and the staff were in what they wanted. Basically I think with Fish the staff would watch film kind of like fans and fall in love with certain guys and then expect Snead to get them. Which is hard to do in this league where other teams have their own priority lists. Now I think the two are so integrated (Coach and GM) that tby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Not trying to cut him out or anything. Clearly he is doing a great job. But pointing out that McVay is a rare head coach. And that is a rule changer in terms of what you can do. To Snead's cred, I'll bet he has a lot to do with the deep thinking side that goes in to the Rams approach. But he would be playing a different game without McVay and teams that try to copy what he's doing need a coaby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That room needs a shot in the arm. Maybe they get it in the draft too, but it won't hurt to have Gilmore on that depth chart. In fact if he can stay healthy the Rams probably get a ton of good play from him in this scheme.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Metcalf has been throwing tantrums on the sideline just from not getting the ball enough with Russel Wilson throwing it to him. There is zero chance he'll be able to keep his mouth shut and endure a mini-rebuild. So the moment Seattle made the directional decision moving Metcalf should have been part of it. Sell his pouty rear end to the highest bidder now before he poisons his value with siby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams two biggest needs seem to align with the strengths of the draft. I don't think that's an accident. We don't need impact starters either. What we need are guys who can enter rotations as depth options and supplement things. The OLB will hopefully have good natural rush ability and an ability to hold up in rotation. The CB has a little more pressure on him as he'll be counted on more butby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
For one thing the moment Woods went down Skow was outstanding as a lead blocker from motion in this offense, throwing that big body around. He is bigger and more physical than Woods was. I mean Woods was a great blocker but he doesn't have that size and Skow also is the kind of guy who relishes that type of usage. You can see it on special teams. Guys who excel on teams are willing to get dirby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The strength of the culture he has installed in LA specifically. From day one they got the most from that roster that they could. This wasn't a star studded roster in 2017. We had a star RB in Gurley and a star DT in Donald and a bunch of guys. We had a QB who needed a clean pocket and Gurley's plus rush threat to be effective. And in the playoffs that year of course the roster wilted in theby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams must think Wagner has more left in the tank than I do. Hopefully given that contract he'll be more than a two down run stuffer. Either way Rams are better vs the run at least in subs and might have the best ILB duo we've seen in a long time. This is gonna be fun to watch them fit him in and I hope he plays lights out.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
18 plays for 97 yards and almost 10 minutes of clock for a TD. That was the greatest drive I can recall up until the one to win the Super Bowl because that 9er defense was a heck of a unit.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

Quoteleafnose Timing is everything. Was just considering the future for Havs. If there was a spot to draft for the future, his certainly would be in the mix. Not only for the $$$ involved in the future to retain him, but having a body coming off the bench. I'm not convinced Evans is the right guy. Quotealyoshamucci It was 13 per, right? Armstead got 15 per, didn't he? Whit was making 16? And Hav is making 10? 9? Seems like top 15 money. I was hoping it would be like 8 or 9. Next year he'll be around 13 yeah I think it was. But there will be more guys paid and he'll slide. So this year he looks really affordable for the team, and next year his pay goes up to what I'd gueby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
And if that happens then maybe he would start campaigning in-house. But he's still new and fresh to the league. He has seen a ton of success and was just in the NFC Championship.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It says Boom has a lot to prove. That his snaps have been small in sample size. If the NFL agreed with PFF on Boom he would have had big time offers and been signed away because teams are desperate for LTs. Indy for example would have pounced on him alone. Deebo is a guy you move others to keep. They will pay him and fit him in.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Would you pay him $5M of your cap space? More? I think the Rams have a number in mind, probably something commensurate with who the player is now. And maybe he's got more in him than last year's film shows. Maybe he was going through the motions a bit. Either way they drafted a guy who can stay on the field three downs in Jones. He needs to play to get better. So it feels wrong to brinby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
No other way to look at it. Player who has a history of high production with poor QBs throwing him the ball. He fits Stafford like he was made to be one of his receivers with his sure hands and physical brand of ball. Robinson is also a large wideout, giving the Rams now a 1-2 who are big and physical weapons you can't jam and who are still open when covered or focused. I like the idea of Wagner coming in affordable but he's not a three down guy any more. I like the idea of his leadership and what he'd give us in divisional games especially against Seattle but just go get a corner with that cap space. Granted I won't complain if they add BW. It just feels like the return isn't going to be all that great however.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
