Whoever they pick has to bring some juice off the edge for the rotation. That's what they need. If the guy has a poor contain, they can work on that. But for this season adding a good edge threat, if they can do that, will be enormous. They're defintely gonna get a corner IMO. Things just line up so well for that. But edge might line up also, so very hopeful once Les gets his trade-down oby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteoldschoolramfan With our DLINE and Wagner/Jones at LB....Go get some of these CB's ....I'm hoping for 2 CB's early this year.....OLINE as usual! Yeah feels like they can really juice the back end this year doesn't it. And they might still be able to add a rotational rusher too. But I'm really looking forward to a better secondary, I hope they put some resources to work improving it. :thby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
There's gonna be fireworks man. Kupp and Robinson are you kiddin me? Maybe they find a top RB too or get Akers back fully healthy and he puts up a great season. It just feels to me like if the protections are there we're in for some top end offensive production. Rams are going to be heII for defenses on third down.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Woolen is really something at 6'4" isn't he. Those measurables and his ceiling would be real nice to see added to our group. One interesting thing with this upcoming pick (Rams will certainly take a corner) is it's going to tell us what Rasheem is thinking irt his plans for shaping this unit, so it's the choice I look forward to analyzing most post-draft. Oh and thanks as always forby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Makes me figure Les is going to trade down if at all possible. Appreciate the list as always Dead. My list isn't really a list but all I can say is Matt Corral is #1 on it. And I think the QBs at large have taken a lot of hits in the media without consideration of COVID impact on that specific position. Which is to say I think this QB class ends up better than people realize. Lastly re:by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
BPA is according to your board in this conversation. If you're John Shaw, your board will be wrong and it doesn't matter who you pick of course. If you're good, then your board will be right more than your peers. Either way it's about doing the diligence to ensure your board is accurate in terms of best fits for what you want to do, then ensuring you get the most value out of your picks on draby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- Quotemerlin They're at 2 so they can choose who they want for the most part. Jags don't have a big target QB to flip the pick, which sucks for them, which means Detroit might get the first pick of this lesser litter. Personally I think Corral is gonna be a baller. Quoteden-the-coach Quotemerlin His competition is Alaric Jackson IMO. Rams will look at Jackson at LG like they did with Boom to see if he can hold down an OG starting spot while he backs up LT. Being on the left allows him to not have his feet messed with. QuoteGroundPounder ofss...really? Good grief...I know we are all Ram fans here but some of you really think one violent hit would spur any WR to be used differently in the offense? Would we expect Kupp and now Robinson to request the same if and when they get laid out? I like to give our players / team credit for things too, but this takes the cake. I don't trust any of these guys in this RB room to stay healthy, but Cam does have potential to be an enormous impact for LA. He's the kind of player who could have a dominating season and people will think wow where did that come from but it will just be what he should have done last year. It would be him arriving a year late due to that injury. All that aside we need help at RB. You can'tby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

He got laid out on just about the biggest stage there is. So that I think focused him in on the RB/underneath usage and his future given the pounding. There is room for him to overplay this for sure but he's a weapon of rare value and he knows it. So I get why he's thinking about all this and thank you Mr. Scott for making that happen. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Every team wants a player like him. They may not want his attitude, but his film is so good multiple teams will be in on him. It'll be a bidding war, which means a first round pick and more.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Jones better be ready to compete his rear end off for playing time and stay healthy on top of that. Wagner is a machine when it pertains to not missing games and Howard looks like he was really putting things together last year, plus the Rams are gonna be in plenty of looks with only one backer. So competition for playing time is going to be real in 2022 for them.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSoCalRAMatic Ya know, Clowney was a giant prospect. He had some great numbers. I used to follow the draft when we were picking high in the first round. Saw him do nothing in his final bowl game. Now, it could be that he was trying to stay uninjured , but he was much less impressive. Don't know where Snead values him, but I don't think it's high. I'm perfectly okay with him signing elsewhere.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I mean how often are we going to punt. Generally if that happens you're talking midfield, so if they really want a guy who can pin 'em back I'd get that. But I think the Rams need to get a couple rotation types who can factor in this year in rounds 3-5, which is a tall order even in a deep draft like this, and a punter too early seems like a luxury they can't afford this year.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Clowney was 26th in the league in sacks with 9. He was 39th in hurries. The dude is not particularly productive in tackles. Watch the games and you forget he's out there, this isn't a guy who is always in the play affecting things even when the numbers don't show it. He's been a tease since he came into the league. To his credit he has at least carved out a role as a starter which is nby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDeadpool I decided 5 years ago I was going to change the way I operated as far as my half assed scouting. I would still do 3 mocks, but it would be post senior bowl, post combine, and pre-draft. This year, I am a little behind, but FA has clarified some stuff for me. And I will still get 3 mocks in. QuoteSoCalRAMatic They don't have a Kupp. Prior to last year teams were winning it all without a Kupp every year. But yes that is true. :thumbsup Again though McDermott is a defensive dude. McDermott is an excellent head coach, one of the better guys from this generation that includes McVay. But he's got to find a way to get Allen at his best when it matters. Daboll got a HC gig from his time there but didn't do that IMO. Not sure if the next guy can. In fact if McDermott wants to win it all I suggest he fix that defense. That is his background after all. I think our offense is going to be better, like top 3 better. Last year we were 5th with 27ppg but we probably jump at least a couple points with Stafford being in year two in this scheme now plus the upgrade at WR with Robinson. Rams are going to be very hard to stop. BUT then you have our defense with what looks to be a very young secondary at corner. They are better up front vs the run Iby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The guy is a solid corner now, he's just not what he used to be and has been fragile the past two years. But he's not wrong for taking his time in this market. I don't know that any team would pass on a good corner addition, and the Colts for example are desperate, moreso than the Rams, so maybe taking his time gets him a big deal from Indy. The big deal is what I'd avoid with him. He needsby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He'll last longer if he is used in a rush role. The guy is 30 now so still in his prime but keeping him fresh for key downs will end up being more important than trotting him out there to maybe blow up the run or maybe open up a hole for them to run in. He's probably got a couple more years of current usage but then if he doesn't retire that's gonna be his future. Age is undefeated and his sby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He's had a couple down seasons in a row which is a bad sign. Last season he got BBQ'd in a defense he knows well under Fangio and benched. If he'd been in a new defense then maybe I'd overlook that but over the past two seasons he suffered a drop in his play with the Bears, got cut, then signed for a one year with a defense he knows and it was ugly. So wouldn't surprise me to see them add corner in the draft even if they manage to sign Gilmore. Gilmore would mean they don't need a guy who's real polished, it can be another project who can help on teams.
