Adding this player to Kupp and Stafford is the insertion of an elite player into a system that will now be enormously harder to defend. This is a move of epic proportions in terms of what it does for the Rams. I'll be surprised if it's anything other than a grand slam.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Van has the talent but that play under the big lights with 9 motioning him "go deep I'm putting it up for you" but him just being there... That really said everything. McVay isn't putting his expectations on hold for a player who can't get it done. He will choose that other player instead and move him. Re: Van I don't know if that means they cut bait now though. They may give himby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It was a need last year too. But losing Von means you need to be better on the back end now. Our rush with AD & Von covered a lot of probs during that run. A median type vet would be nice. Someone to improve depth basically and compete for that CB2 role. It is that or the draft. But OLB is also a big need now. I think it's possible we see them add a median vet type there too to ensby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They got Allen back plus Shelton, at bargain rates, which was nice for some continuity on the interior. Not to say that I love Allen there btw, but he did get it done for us in 2021. Now as things pertain to OG their depth holdovers get first look and they might get a quick study in the draft. It can happen at OG in particular. Only real issue is whether they find a mix that brings back sby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Dallas does offer both. Not a lot of places out there that will be able to do that. I don't think they're a top contender but I do consider them a contender who will benefit from a weak division again. If the guy wants to take the most cash and set himself up to be more secure I get it. But hopefully he elects to chase a third ring in which case the Rams are very hard to beat.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Shelton is very close to Allen. I think he offers an upgrade in the run game. So bringing him back makes the center depth look good plus Allen can't get too comfortable when he's on a relatively lower end deal plus the good depth.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He has to have that strength to run that culture like McVay does. I think Staley is a heck of a coach but McVay is kind of unique in that. Where McVay probably has the ability to get production out of most players you give him, even some of the ones who might be problematic for other coaches. So we'll see how this signing works out for them. I haven't watched a ton of Bears games btw but giby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They go back to the Jets days when Pat was GM. So Pat gets a lot of his material from Pete, which means if that show is reporting the Seahawks are gonna get him it means Pete likes their chances of getting him at the least.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Queue up the Rams/9ers games to get a look at him, he is an excellent OG. Powerful dude. AD often moves away from him to other side.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Mack is no Donald but he's a force of nature in a scheme that makes good use of him. I expect that's gonna happen with Staley. And for Staley this is an important addition. His defense last season finished 29th in scoring. You can't do that if you're a "defensive genius" head coach. So this is a crucial signing that has to work for him.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is a big focus on physicality and guys who can stop the run. The Rams have moved from guys like Littleton and I see no reason to go back. Right now they are better at ILB than they have been in many years. Jones and Howard look solid all they need now is try to improve the depth for if/when either miss time.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It was more a question of how much they'd need to clear to get it done. Not whether they'd get it done. Von changed this defense to a much better unit. He helped mask our DB problems. So they're gonna get him done it's just a matter of making the cap space. Teams make room for top edge threats. So even Green Bay or Denver with the cap changes will still be after him. Thing is Von knows tby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I absolutely love his game and I think he's gonna be a dog at this level.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If the Rams wanted Boom it would have happened by now. At least it would have seemed like a priority by now. Whit hanging around this time feels to me like they're going to have him on hold while they either chase a LT on the market or try to reload the OL with younguns from the depth chart. In both those approaches having Whit as a fallback is enormously valuable. And also to be honest I'mby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The core of their team wasn't competing with the Rams. I think moving him now when they can use the value they get back in trade to speed the rebuild is wise. It was time. So right decision IMO but the other decisions around him have been poor. Bringing Pete back for starters. Generally if you're gonna move the QB and reload then cycling the coach is the way to go to start that timer withby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm sure they're stepping up to that plate and taking some swings to get this done.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Because if you remove him the OLB group looks rough. As a contender you want better quality on the edge than that group minus Von. And much of the reason they don't look good enough is due to not being able to trust Lewis as well as losing Oko who is a really solid rotation piece. But I'm looking forward to seeing what Garrett can do with a full year of pro training. Hopefully he can stay oby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Keeping him around another year you can't really deal his starting QB without looking villainous from that GM chair. But with him gone then you can take advantage of these Rams-wannabe organizations who are ready to deal picks for a difference maker at QB. It's gonna suck when they have to say no to a package of three first round picks and maybe a player or two on top of that, knowing that aby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I like it. Have a good depth/rotation that can play teams or block well or just provide 9 with big targets to put that ball on. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
First off the upgrade that Stafford gave the Rams pre-snap in identifying threats was the single biggest difference, because Goff in 2020 had regressed so badly there. That alone was worth the change because Stafford was the best in the league vs extra rushers. But the downfield penchant for big plays is really the reason for the change. Which, when you consider that throwing deep requires eby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
You have what fans think of the uniforms, which is going to be different person to person of course. And then you have winning and its effect on sales. The Browns uniforms are the most hideous to me, but if they win a Super Bowl they're gonna spike in their sales big time. The two really don't have all that much to do with each other. I do think some color schemes and looks resonate with moby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they were critically important when Goff was behind center. But not with Stafford back there. Google Ragnow's take on how Stafford mentored him on protection calls. He's one of the best in the league at that. Best route for Allen to return is to be cheap. If he's cheap enough then sure I could see it. But why would he be cheap. This is his chance to cash in.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

I mean maybe I'm on crazy pills or whatever but there is no real dropoff from Allen to Shelton. Rams can draft a center midrounds or maybe use Drake as a backup, where being undersized isn't such a problem. But I'll be very surprised if they prioritize him. It just makes zero sense to me. So in about a month or so when Allen's re-signed because the Rams never do what I expect on the OL, I'lby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
You can recall McVay saying a player needs to have a greater sense of urgency. I cannot recall him ever making a comment like that. Comparing this to the Tavon trade, where he talked about how great he was even as he dished him quickly to get rid of him, there's a stark difference. So this whole rumor thing might be based on that. It is a tell of sorts. Or maybe there's truth to it.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 QuoteLMU93 I think Bobby Brown III, Rochell and Garrett will all have noticeably bigger roles on defense in 2022. In fact I would not be surprised at all if Rochell starts opposite Ramsey. He had 234 snaps as a rookie which is a good base to build from. I’m optimistic about Harris, too. If he stays healthy it will be hard for McVay to keep him off the field, especially before OBJ reby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think with SJD leaving our DL room is still outstanding. SJD is basically a strong rotational player loss, because he lost that starting gig to Gaines. Rams have some really nice depth pieces who rotated in big games and did a good job outside of SJD too, so they're just fine there. It would be nice if they could take advantage of such a great DL draft. Ideally for example they get a rounby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 QuoteJimYoungblood53 QuoteRams43 Any other interpretation seems biased and agenda driven. Nothing more. What hate? You tend to throw that word around when you’re losing a debate. You lose a lot of credibility when you do that. Honest criticism of Morris in the first 10 weeks based upon evidence on the playing field meets your definition of ‘hate’? I'm going off memory here admittedly but it really seems like a weakness of his. And what's irritating is he could fix that by hiring someone who has one job on gameday which is watching replay and yelling for them to challenge the call when appropriate. Currently he will challenge at times just because it was a big play, as if hoping to find something. It's crazy and something he needs toby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't care whether you think Morris was perfect from the first snap. Doesn't bother me at all. But then that's because I'm secure in what I saw, which was a whole lot of dysfunction early in the year on the field. And when there's that much early in the season, and the unit plays far better as the season goes on and into the postseason, the conclusion is pretty clear. But go ahead and makby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
