Something along the lines of he was impressed by how detailed McVay and the staff were in what they wanted. Basically I think with Fish the staff would watch film kind of like fans and fall in love with certain guys and then expect Snead to get them. Which is hard to do in this league where other teams have their own priority lists.
Now I think the two are so integrated (Coach and GM) that they isolate the elements they really want down to a gnat's ass, then build a nice list of guys who are highlighted on their draft board that tell them what areas they want to make their picks. I also think sometimes they miss those guys, and I think last year they missed on Eskridge for example, but overall the approach works because Snead has a great feel for when guys should go off the board and obviously the Rams staff goes the extra distance to cite what they want so the scouts can be focused in on those things.
