Jacob Harris was activated today, I believe. This is the guy they should be using to take the top off of the defense. I'll glady give up .003 seconds in the 40 time, that Tutu has over Harris, to gain the height, weight and catch radius advantages that Harris has over Tutu. But, unless the line can pass protect long enough to get anyone deeper than 10-12 yards, it won't matter who is runninby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Look... I love the trade the Rams made to get Stafford. I don't care about the draft picks given up, the salary increase they had to give him, etc. I think Stafford, when he's "right" is a top 5 guy. But... There are too many plays where it seems he may be deciding where he's gonna chuck the ball before he sees how the D is playing out. I hated the call even though I understood it. It's such a bad look and I would much have preferred McVay calling the punt unit over and telling them that someone will probably be looking for a job next week if this punt get's blocked. Being worried about a 2nd punt being blocked in the same game sure doesn't show much confidence in the punt team as a unit. I know the P was hurt, but didn't Gaby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
"Put me in the Tutu doubter column. I still think he was a brain fart by Snead/McVay." Personally... I believe Eskridge is the player the Rams were targeting in round 2 of last year's draft. Eskridge was drafted by the Seahawks exactly 1 pick ahead of the Rams drafting Atwell. While still kind of a gadget guy, Eskridge is built much better for playing football and offers similar spby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSoCalRAMatic BW plays 93 percent of the time. If he has a weakness in coverage he wouldn't be in on third downs. He doesn't have any weaknesses. He's the best in the NFL and will go to the HOF. The days of "my way or the highway" have come and gone as a leadership mentality. Zimmer couldn't change with the times. Sports and business leaders are having to integrate staff/talent into business models, plans and to develop their culture. The old ways of doing things don't work any longer. I thought I read that Snead said that Jacob Harris would likely be pulled up ahead of McCutcheon due to the fact that Harris is a stud on pretty much all special teams. I'm very interested to see what McCutcheon can do but when you figure Kupp, Robinson, Jefferson (when healthy), Atwell, Skowronek, Powell (Will be the KR/PR) and Harris (ST Ace) are likely to see the field ahead of McCutcheon riby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
So... If you read the article about the Bills roster revealing a lot about their intent to run more 12 personell due to more defenses utilizing the 2-high shell which is designed to take away the deeper passes, then this signing makes a little more sense. Should the Rams find themselves running into a lot of match-ups against 12 personell, then Gervase is likely better in coverage than the otheby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Geez Guys... It's one thing to catch a ball over one shoulder and maintain balance to keep running. It's another thing when it's straight over your head like that. It's a really nice catch, he used the speed we've heard about but he didn't take it to the house so it's "crap". C'MON MAN! Is he gonna have to walk on water to make some of you happy. Quote3030 Specific names aside, does anyone else think keeping 8 receivers on the final roster is a bit excessive? 8 being what I keep seeing predicted for our final roster. I get that this is a passing league and that we use our receivers on special teams. I'd just rather see us use one of those spots for more OL depth. QuoteSoCalRAMatic No trade. 1. VJ is hurt. Wouldn't get a high pick right now 2. He should be back by game 2 in a very long season 3. He is our best most experienced deep threat Tutu and Harris aren't there yet. 4. Because we go 11 almost every snap VJ is a starter. 5. OBJ isn't a Ram. Right now he's not really a football player. QuoteRams43 I’m certainly not gonna crucify anybody. Heck, I like outside-the-box thinking. Been known to do it occasionally, myself. As to your question? I doubt that VJ would fetch a 3rd, maybe not even a 4th. But I do agree that the Rams are loaded at WR down to at least Trammel. That’s 8 deep not counting Powell because I consider him strictly a returner. Point being that trading VJ wouby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteShecky Interesting take. I do like Van, as well. He is on the right trajectory for the Rams. He had some catching trouble later last season. With OBJ, he would certainly drop to WR4. That may not digestible for Van. I don't think it will happen, but appreciating the thinking outside of the box. Thanks... I know, I know... But hear me out. Here's a few reasons, in no specific order... 1) Although all of the WR's other than Kupp, Robinson and Jefferson are inexperienced, they do have an abundance of potentially very good WR's currently on the team. 2) If the Rams are serious about trying to bring back OBJ, they would gain back $1.1M of cap space if VJ were traded for a draft pick. 3) One wouldby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBarf33 Bad: The OL in general. Even in preseason an OL with Jackson and Evans playing should look better IMO. If you have a VPN, then NFL Game Pass International is the way to go. If you don't have a VPN, you can get one for just a few bucks a month or often a 3 year subscription for around $50. Honestly... Don Coryell is the most deserving in my opinion. His passing game/system changed the game more than just about anything else in the past 50 years. I don't think he was an amazing coach, not sure he won many playoff games or any super bowls, but the roots of nearly every current NFL team's passing game strategy come from Coryell. Fisher is like Schottenheimer was... They could both build regular season competitive teams but could never really figure out how to go from regular season competitive to Super Bowl competitive. Russell Wilson's rise to stardom was really built on a great running game, deep passing game, his ability to create well on broken plays and a really good defense. I don't want to sound harsh or anything, but there may be a bright side to this, for the Rams... OBJ's value like just went way down on the open market because of his knee. It's might make him more affordable for the Rams AND they would get to supervise his rehab. The Rams are VERY GOOD at rehabbing injuries in good timelines and with few reoccurrences.
