BW plays 93 percent of the time. If he has a weakness in coverage he wouldn't be in on third downs. He doesn't have any weaknesses. He's the best in the NFL and will go to the HOF.
Gervase was competing against the backup ILBs. He's not coming in over BW or EJ without injuries. He will be in on kickoffs and punts.

How much he played in the past can certainly be a direct reflection of what other options the Seahawks had or didn't have. The numbers don't lie. His numbers in pass coverage have gotten worse as he's gotten older. It's part of the game. I agree that he has been one of the very best in the NFL and is likely headed to HOF. But, he's not the best in the game any longer.

Are the Rams better with Bobby Wagner as opposed to Troy Reeder? Hell yes! At least I expect them to be.
But, with all the talk that there's been about the liability Reeder was, especially in coverage, Reeder's numbers in 2021 are better than Wagner's numbers in 2019, 2020 & 2021.So, while I accept that BW is going to have WAY, WAY, WAY more defensive snaps than Gervase will, the idea that Gervase was moved from S to a Hybrid ILB position to potentially combat against a team that tries to primarily run 12 personell against the Rams, makes as much sense as anything else. It wouldn't shock me at all if Rams have Ernest Jones in as the only LB in there when they are in the dime package, as opposed to it being BW.
Wagner is likely now a 2-down LB against pass-heavy opponents and only a 3-down LB against teams with a run-heavy offense or with a QB that likes to run. I guess we will have to wait and see. I expect BW is going to make this defense better. But, he's not the "God" you are portraying him to be any longer.
