Somewhere in this lengthy post I gave an example as to how changes occur. It had to do with the old Ford Pinto and the products liability lawsuit that forced Ford Motor Company to give up on its design and eventually the vehicle itself. Yes, the deceased's family, received $$$$$$ money-but it caused a change in the industry at the same time.
