He even said this likely will cost me my career in professional football coaching. I give him tons of credit for this. Because he's right. And the best way to do that is not to hire "any" black coach in the face of more qualified white coaches. But an owner and GM need to sit down and go over what they want in a HC-after considering what the present strengths and weaknesses are. After that look to see if there are black candidates that meet those needs and goals. That is the only way this will change because right now the Rooney rule is a JOKE !

The question is will white ownership want to do that or will they say the Rooney rule is just fine the way it is.
