so I'm not sure why some are getting on the original poster from assuming it means progressions... it could have.
As someone who has done a lot of transcripts over the years, reporting on what was said in a tv spot or radio or something people don't have access to, If something could mean OTHER things then you stick close to what the person ACTUALLY said. You don't interpret it and offer your version as if it were a quotation.
It is inevitable that if you read between the lines and post that as if it were the ACTUAL lines, you get called on it. I remember discussing that with you, Speed, in PM, about a certain poster who misheard podcasts. You weren't so forgiving THEN.
You clearly saw it as a fault of the poster's. Well it is now too.
You don't interpret, you quote. That;s the responsibility of posting a transcript or a report on "what was said." I've seen others torn into for not doing that right. When I do that, I go out of my way to make sure I am NOT reading in instead of just typing up as close as possible what the original speaker, whoever he is, actually said.
In fact what Silver ACTUALLY said could mean so many different things, it has this problem--it's just easy for anyone with an agenda to project what they believe on to what he is saying, even if what the guy is saying is nothing like what you personally believe.
Including the narrative that McV is a bit of a control freak who is undermining a qb's confidence (the opposite of what Reid did with Mahomes). Is that reading of what Silver said possible? Sure. But it's not written in stone that Silver said that.
Anyway, what Silver DID say, for absolute sure, is that whatever the issue is, it's fixable.
I wonder how many people are going to dismiss or ignore or forget that part of it.
