He didn't say process but he did say they aren't seeing the same things <shrug>. IMO if the coach and QB aren't seeing the same things that's a problem so I'm not sure why some are getting on the original poster from assuming it means progressions... it could have. Certainly isn't a mental stretch to get there especially given we have seen Kurt Warner and others say it too.
IMO people that are trying to get hung up on that are purposely not trying to hear what Silver is clearly saying here
He also said Goff thought he could play and took the choice of Wolford not well. In other words he thought he was fine to play and was not happy that McVay didn't agree
Sorry took so long to load. Had to record from my phone then upload
.
Silver says that "...the coach (McVay) is dissatisfied."
However one wants to interpret the 'seeing it the same way' phrase, Silver says the coach is dissatisfied. As many here have been saying it appears there's some tension in the relationship.
Some have been telling us there's no frustration, no dissatisfaction. Now there's a direct report quashing that position.
I have a theory and it hasn't really been discussed but I think there is something to it.....
I think McVay is mad with Goff changing some of the calls. Contrary to popular belief McVay hasn't been in Goff's ear at the LOS in a long time....if you notice we usually don't hike the ball until about 1-2 seconds left in the clock and Goff has called quit a bit of audibles and I don't think McVay is happy about some of them.
Of course they're never gonna let some of that stuff out to the public, but I think this is why McVay is also leaning towards Wolf right now ...obviously much if it has to do with the thumb injury, but he has much more control over Wolf when it comes to the play calls.
McVay said yesterday "Goff is our quarterback." Period but it doesn't mean everything is hunky dory.... I think they have some work to do this offseason to iron out their differences
