Enh, people keep trying to evade what happened here. I don't know why.

The defense allowed the Jets to score 23 and they've only scored 20 or more 5 times all year. 6 times they scored less than 10 and one of those was zero. They're the league's 32nd ranked offense...for the 2nd year in a row.

You cannot "but" that away.

There is no "which unit was worse" in this, though I will say that the 1st ranked defense is not supposed to play that way against the 32nd ranked offense.

At least the Rams offense has an excuse--the Jets DL is their team strength and they took it to the Rams OL, which was no match. The defense has no such excuse. It just made coverage mistakes all game.

The offense at least got going in the 2nd half and made it a game.
