I appreciate the analysis but what I quote there is too big a conclusion for 2 plays (the 2 in this case being the SF and Jets games, 1 play each, if I read you right) For example the Rams won the Tampa game because they threw down the field late in the 4th quarter to get the tie-breaking score. There are 9 GWD/comeback games to Goff's credit. '

I have to develop that because there can be misconceptions about comebacks. The number 9 only means this in this case--he HAS done it (and in some tough circumstances). (Explanation on numbers here: all the number 9 indicates here is that he has come through in those circumstances...but we don't know how many times he didn't do it, including times when the defense failed to hold a comeback lead. So a real measure would be a percentage: how many times is he in those circumstances, what percentage of those times do they win. So, again, all "9" means here is that yes he has done it.)

People keep telling us that certain things are supposed to be true of 5th year qbs and I never see any evidence that those claims are valid. Eg. all good qbs I have looked at had bad games as 5th year qbs, all have failed at comebacks, it is routine for a qb under pressure to select a target pre-snap, and so on.)
